I was spoiled this week with new songs from bands I really enjoy.
PHANTOGRAM – Black Out Days
J’aime beaucoup ce que fait le groupe de Brooklyn. Toujours bien rythmé et très catchy. La voix de la chanteuse est, comme je les aime: remplie d’émotions, mais avec une touche de nonchalance. Bref, jusqu’ici ils ne m’ont jamais déçue. J’ai hâte d’entendre d’autres nouveautés!
I really like what this band from Brooklyn has been doing. Always on point with their beats and super catchy. The signer’s voice is just how I like them: filled with emotions but a tad nonchalant. It’s safe to say I’ve never been disapointed. I can’t wait to hear more new stuff!
ZERO 7 – Don’t Call it Love
Ce groupe britannique a marqué mes années au cégep. J’ai TELLEMENT écouté leur album « In the Waiting Line » qu’il s’est mis à sauter d’usure. Ce duo a le don de nous faire découvrir des voix hors de ce monde (allo Sia) et de créer des mélodies avec le je ne sais quoi qu’on recherche sans cesse. J’ai mis cette chanson dans le mixtape de septembre, mais je l’écoute encore en boucle alors la revoici! (mon bout préféré @ 3:33)
This band was a huge part of my musical life in cégep. I listened to their album « In The Waiting Line » so much it stated skipping. The british duo has a knack for broadcasting amazing new talents (hello Sia) and creating melodies with that certain je-ne-sais-quoi we always look for in a song. I put this song in the september mixtape, but I still listen to it in an OCD-like manner so here it is again! (my favourite bit @ 3:33)
THE INTERNET – Dont’cha
Ce groupe de la famille Odd Future ne pourrait pas être plus loin du rap choquant que peut être OFWGKTA, surtout avec leurs dernières chansons. Très jazz, et R&B à la fois, ça s’écoute super bien, peu importe l’humeur ou l’endroit.
What this band from the Odd Future family does couldn’t be further from the shocking rap OFWGKTA is known for. Especially with their latest releases. A mix between something jazz and something RnB, it’ s really easy to listen to, no matter the time, mood and place.
