Black Friday – Achats locaux
L’heure fatidique du Black Friday a sonné ! Pratiquement toutes les boutiques et toutes les marques offrent des rabais en ligne ou en magasin aujourd’hui seulement. C’est enfin le moment de mettre la main sur des articles locaux et faire des découvertes de marques d’ici (+ c’est bientôt Noël). Nos coups de coeur, les choix impeccables de sacs et d’accessoires chez Lowell, dévaliser la boutique féminine toute fraîche du Frank & Oak ou encore trouver le parfait crewneck de la boutique Mimi & August !
L’héritier – documentaire
Il faut absolument visionner le documentaire L’héritier réalisé par Édith Jorish. Ayant vécu la 2e Guerre Mondial, Goerge Jorish, grand-père de la réalisatrice, souhaite retrouver son patrimoine familial, volé par l’ère Nazis. Pendant 12 ans, il part à la recherche de deux tableaux du peintre autrichien Gustav Klimt ayant appartenu à sa famille et volés durant la guerre. Cette quête est documenté avec soin, et fait surtout preuve d’une très grande sensibilité. Une histoire fascinante, alliant art et faits historiques, qui nécessite un moment d’arrêt pour une écoute attentive ! Le tout est disponible sur Télé-Québec, juste ici.
5 à 9 au Musée McCord
Museums are the new 5@7! With a variety of amazing Montreal institutions, it is easy to discover our city’s culture, people and places. On November 24, the McCord Museum hosted its After Hours at the McCord – Montreal Photography. The McCord Museum hosts four After Hours per year, all inspired by their various exhibitions. This fall’s event was inspired by Notman: A Visionary Photographer, a unique exhibition about renowned Canadian photographer William Notman who was resourceful and innovative in his art.
It was amazing! I explored the Museum with rhythmic beats by ROUX Soundsystem with a drink at hand – there was a variety of themed bars to fit your fancy with cocktails, bubbly, scotch and beer! After visiting the exhibition, I explored the interactive photography workshops to understand the art of Polaroids and vogued out with a blast from the past photo shoot by Studio Argentique.
Every After Hours at the McCord brings interactive surprises, awesome photoshoots and great people! Mark your calendars for the next edition on March 30 for the opening of Printemps Numérique.
